Volunteer Positions Available at the CASC

Volunteer positions currently available at the Connecticut Air & Space Center.

We are seeking a few good people with some specific skills.  Anyone over 18 is welcome to volunteer at the Connecticut Air & Space Center. We always have a few projects that need general help .  Never worked on an Airplane? We can teach you to help restore aircraft and machinery as well as being a Docent giving tours or tending the gift shop and displays.

Heavy Equipment / Support Equipment Maintenance Person
We are seeking a person who can take charge of our forklifts, tug, jacks, trailers, etc. Mechanical and Hydraulic background is very important. Unlike many of our other positions we really need someone who has real experience (due to safety factor) with this type of equipment. Normally the position would only require be a few hours a month overseeing proper general maintenance, setting up a maintenance plan and emergency repair when required. Aircraft Structural Repair 
The Sikorsky S-60 team is looking for a few good people with Aircraft Structural Repair background & Skills. The S-60 Restoration is picking up speed and really need a few people who know the difference between a Hi-Lok and a Cherry Max. We ask that you can at least give 16 hours a month. This position reports to the S-60 Team Leader. If you are interested in preserving a really unique piece of history please submit a resume or qualifications to casc@ctairandspace.org

Corrosion Control Person
You job will be to select the proper equipment and materials to restore damaged metal surfaces to bring area back to original depth and color with minimum rework.
You will utilize various corrosion control methods and technologies to surfaces requiring primer or paint. Complies with safety rules and procedures associated with corrosion control duties.

You may perform aircraft structure painting, priming, and preparation duties associated with task. Skilled in masking, covering surfaces, stripping, and removal of surface paint and primer are all helpful.

Archivist / Librarian
We need someone who will scan documents, create PDF files of manuals and help organize our physical and digital Archives.
